John Piper postcard signed and handwritten postcard, dated Sep 5th. It reads, “My dear Bill, I am very sorry to hear your news. I feel quite confident however, that you will be all right again in a short time. Myfanwy is writing also, so I will just send my love and good wishes for speedy and total recovery. My show arrangements are building up into a crescendo, but will think of you, and keep in touch. Yours ever, John.”

Myfanwy Piper postcard signed and handwritten. Written Christmas 1984. It refers to John Betjeman as noted at the top of the card in another ahnd, presumably Bill’s, ‘from Myfanwy Piper Dec 84 refers to John Betjeman’

The card reads, ” My dear Bill, A very happy christmas to you and a better New Year I do hope. I feel such a pig as I have not been to see you. But this year has been almost as impossible as last and we’ve scarcely been to London at all. We’ll do better in 1985 but also you must come here one way or another. Did you see my bit about J.B. (John Betjeman) in the Times? It seemed to go down well though I was worried because I said things other people hadn’t. I was rather tired of his dear old Teddy bear ? Much love from us both, Myfanwy.
