Elspeth Owen

(b.1938)

Having had a varied life, Elspeth Owen states that she came to ceramics in the 1970’s, when she was in her thirties, as part of her direct involvement with the Women’s Movement . Her work is held in many collections around the world and is much admired. Her work is tactile and should be held and felt, which relates to her saying, “The pots, I think, emerge more from my memories of holding and of being held than from any study of art or nature”.
