Charles Bound

Charles Bound (b.1939)

Charles Bound was born in New York City and then spent much time working between the US and Kenya working in the theatre, teaching and publishing. He did not come to ceramics until 1983, and in 1984 he was afforded the opportunity to convert space on a Welsh farm to build his studio, which is where he built a wood fired kiln and where he works to this day. His work is rugged, beautifully brutal and powerful.
