Aki Moriuchi

(b. 1947)

Japanese potter who has lived and worked in the UK since 1971. Some years later she turned to ceramics and left behind making tableware to turn to more sculptural work. She uses volcanic glazes and often sandblasts her work to weather it instantly. Since 2006 she has stopped making ceramics and now travels and works on art.
