Seen UA
(b. 1961)
Richie Mirando, better known as Seen UA (for “United Artists,” his graffiti crew), began painting New York subway trains in 1973 and quickly became one of the most recognisable figures in the graffiti movement. His bold, large-scale works — often featuring vivid lettering, pop culture imagery, and a sense of urban bravado — earned him the title “Godfather of Graffiti.” Over the decades, Seen has moved from the trains to galleries, but his work retains the raw energy, colour, and attitude that made him a legend.
