Nael Hanna

Nael Hanna was born in Northern Iraq, and was interested in art from an early age. He was drafted into the army to serve in the Iran-Iraq war. He continued to paint and was awarded a scholarship by the Ministry of Education, Baghdad and he chose to study art in Britain. After studying at Southampton and Dundee he took up a residency at the prestigious Hospitalfield in Arbroath and he fell in love with the east coast of Scotland and this remains a constant source of inspiration for Hanna.
