Geneviève Claisse was a leading figure in post-war geometric abstraction, celebrated for her precise compositions of form, line, and colour. A protégé of Auguste Herbin, she became closely associated with the Galerie Denise René in Paris, the epicentre of Op Art and Constructivist movements in Europe.
