Alfred Daniels

(1904-2015)
Alfred Daniels was a Modern British painter and muralist, best known for his joyful depictions of everyday life. Often described as the “Lowry for Londoners,” he painted the streets, markets, and riversides of the capital with warmth, wit, and an eye for character. While London was his primary inspiration, he also painted further afield, always capturing the spirit of place and the people within it. Daniels’ rhythmic compositions, bold colour, and playful humour gave his work a distinctive charm, and his murals remain part of London’s visual heritage.
