Buzz Aldrin

Glossy 10 x 8″ photograph signed by Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin. We see him having landed on the Moon at Tranquility Base with Neil Armstrong as part of the Apollo 11 expedition. In their short time on the Moon they carried out experiments and took samples to bring back. Here Aldrin is deploying the PSEP (Passive Seismic Experiments Package). This was the first seismometer placed on the Moon and its purpose was to measure lunar “moonquakes” and meteorite impacts upon the Moon, and provided information about the internal structure of the Moon. It was powered by solar panels and in its lifetime recorded between 100 to 200 meteorite hits on the lunar surface.
