Apollo XI

This is an extraordinary piece of space memorabilia honouring the first NASA crew to successfully travel to and land on the Moon on July 20 1969. The crew names are etched on the plates of human history being Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Mike Collins. On their return from the Moon, after they spent a period of time in quarantine, the crew ended up on a world tour meeting and greeting a huge amount of people. On their travels they must have signed a huge amount of autographs but considering this not nearly as much appears on the open market as one would expect. Consequently a crew-signed item is still a Holy Grail item for many. And here we have the most glorious piece of what I consider Pop Art. This is an everyday pennant emblazoned with the Commander and first man on the Moon, Neil Armstrong’s face. It is signed by Armstrong, Aldrin and Collins. It’s so perfectly 60’s and has been framed in a suitably kitsch fashion that you will either love or loathe. But the pennant is easily removable if it’s too over-powering as it is! It grows on you and someone has taken a long time to get it just like this.
