Muhammad Ali
Black and white 10 x 8″ photograph of Muhammad Ali with The Beatles, taken not long before he would become world heavyweight champion. They met at his training camp at Miami Beach’s 5th Street Gym on February 18th, 1964 as he prepared for his upcoming fight with Sonny Liston.
Ironically, to engineer publicity on their American trip, The Beatles first approached Liston for a photo opportunity but got a firm refusal. Consequently, they approached his opponent, the lesser-known Cassius Clay, who would soon become Muhammad Ali. Neither party knew much about the other but the shoot took place and now has become a legendary meeting of two pop icons. The Beatles and Muhammad Ali.
Signed in blue sharpie by Ali with his name alone to a clear area.
