Walala Tjapaltjarri

Walala Tjapaltjarri is a renowned Pintupi artist whose paintings depict the Tingari cycle — sacred and secret songlines recounting the journeys and teachings of ancestral beings. Working with a restrained palette of no more than four colours, he creates bold, geometric depictions of the desert landscapes central to his heritage. His work carries both cultural significance and striking visual power, and is collected in major institutions and private collections worldwide.
