John Copnall

(1928-2007)

After graduating from the RA in the early 50’s, Copnal lhitchhiked to Spain, initially to visit Barcelona for a few weeks. But he fell in love with the Spanish countryside and travelled extensively, settling in Ibiza for a time. Eventually, he ended up buying a run down old farmhouse in Benalmadena in Andalucia. Here he stayed until 1968 when he finally returned back to London. Here he taught at the Central School of Art and Design. He exhibited extensively throughout his life.
