Jeffrey Steele was a British abstract painter and a major figure in Op Art, celebrated for the mathematical precision and harmony in his compositions. In 1969, he co-founded the Systems group alongside Malcolm Hughes, Michael Kidner, Gillian Wise, and others, uniting artists committed to structured, systematic approaches to abstraction.
