Albert Louden
(b. 1943)
Albert Louden is a self-taught visionary who decided at 19 that all he wanted was to make art. Supporting himself with whatever work would fund his materials, he pursued his singular vision until his breakthrough in 1985, when his exhibition at London’s Serpentine Gallery sold out entirely. Since then, Louden has exhibited widely in the UK and internationally, earning a reputation for paintings that sit between the surreal and the naïve. His vibrant palette, distorted figures, and layered, dreamlike spaces create a world that is entirely his own — instantly recognisable and sought after by collectors.
